Hey lads, we have made our way up North to Cusco, Peru and left Bolivia behind. We went to the Titicaca Lake and got mesmerised with its beauty! The lake is dividing Bolivia and Peru and we spent a couple of days visiting the Bolivian side. The lake and its islands are populated mainly by indigenous Aymara people, and some of them still live in a very traditional way.
The Sun Island is the most touristic one, although is still possible to perceive some kind of isolation and the traditional way of life of some of its people. We slept there for one night and the day after we walked from South to North, and, ufff! What a rewarding walk guys! On one side we had the Cordillera Real with snow-covered peaks rising more than 6,000m, then we had the transparent blue waters of the Lake and plenty small islands around. On the walk we came across with some Inca ruins like a temple or sacred stone. No wonder why for them this island was sacred!
Yesterday we left Bolivia with grief, we have had and amazing time there and just love it every second! But we will go back after Peru and before crossing into Argentina.
Now it is time for trekking lads!!! On the 30Th of October we have the Inca Trail, four days walking before getting to the mighty Machu Pichu. Afterwards we are planning another four days trek to Choquequirau, with some friends but this time independently. We will rent all the equipment including the mules and off we go! It is another Inca site with some impressive ruins just discovered 7 years ago where you can only get walking!
Ahhh, in Cusco we start to feel like at home! We have found a Catalan bar with the Catalan and Barça flag on the balconies! So tomorrow we will have a nice "pa amb tomaquet" while watching Barça playing on the league!
All the best! Loads of kisses!
