Hanging around Santiago de Chile.

Hello from Chile lads! Yeah, finally we made it to South America, and so far, things are looking well for us! We have decided to take the first days easy and chill-out. We need certain time to assimilate our new trip phase! This is totally different than NZ or OZ, it is again more challenging but at the same time more thrilling in terms of culture and people. We are enjoying so much with the benefit of the language, as here we can get to talk to anyone!
Santiago as a city is not especially beautiful, but its location with the mighty Andes on the background is dazzling. While walking around every now and then you get some fantastic views of the snow covered towering mountains. Besides that we walked around the old city, checked out some museums, and the plaza de armas and some colonial buildings.
So far it is quite cold or bloody cold at some stages like last night when snowed in the city, something really unusual here!
On Sunday we are planning to leave the city and head off up North where the weather should be warmer and sunny! And to make sure that we will not have to cope with rain and storms for a while, eventually we will go to the Atacama Desert, where in some places has not rained for the last 4,000 years! Hope we will not bring any changes…
All the best!
