Hey friends! During the last hours we have been doing a lot of thinking about our future. Some of you might know that we had in mind to stay in NZ for a long period and temporary settle down here to keep travelling on 2008 to South America. So we left this plan far behind and decided to keep travelling! We do not really feel like staying here, the travel bug is still very alive inside us! We do love New Zeland, but, there is always a but! "The grass looks always greener on the other side of the fence". We realised of some drawbacks, as low wages, winter weather, difficulties to work legally, people less friendly than stated by the stereotypes...
We had too many doubts and not enough energy or willing to start a new life in NZ, specially when we have two tickets in hand to jump to our big dream: South America!
So lads, we have changed our plans and plane tickets and next Tuesday we will be flying to Chile. Yes! and we are so pleased with that, like a kid with a new toy!
Another reason to move forward is the budget. We have been almost 3 months between Australia and NZ and our finances are struggling.
Our last week in Wellington has been great! We stayed with Emily and Bob and their cute baby, James! It is always good to catch up with friends and enjoy them! Basically we hanged around the city and most of the time we lounged around their house browsing on internet, playing with James or feeling again a TV controller in our hands while seating on a sofa!
Tomorrow we will drive up to Auckland and bid farewell to NZ! We really had a good time here, it is a fascinating country in terms of nature and landscape. But, yeah, it is still similar to our background whereas in South America we will have again that special feeling with the people and the culture!
